You may be asking: “what is a junk journal?”, and that’s a great question. To me, a junk journal is simply a journal decorated with “junk” such as receipts, labels, magazine cut outs, and other random scraps that can be glued to a page. It’s a form of creative scrap booking that can also include stickers, washi tapes, stamps, and doodles. I enjoy junk journaling because it is a less uniform and more expressive way for me to put an idea down on paper. Collecting scraps from everyday life and documenting them creates a niche catalog of things I like that I interact with every day.
